It finally happened that i was caught running naked away from a Philadelphia police car.
It was about 3:10 am. I had run this corner what seems like hundreds of times and was very rarely ever seen. This time a police car came around the corner and i hid behind a parked car. The police officer drove down the street for he hadn't seen me. I dashed away and hid, but he turned his car around and as i was heading back to my clothes, he must have seen me. I ran around a corner and down the crossing street but he followed me as i rounded another corner. He caught up to me and i just stopped and raised me hands in the air wearing only running shoes. He made me get into his car naked and asked me why i was naked. I said it is exhilarating and i try not to be seen [which is generally the case]. I never rode in a police car naked before. Those seats in the back of the car are hard plastic and not padded at all. He drove me around the corner and back to my jacket, shorts and hat. He gave me my clothes and told me to get dressed.
By then another couple police cars had shown up and they had the emergency lights of red and blue going. The officer that caught me asked for my ID. The other cop asked me questions. He said he thought he had seen me before [dressed] walking around another area i go. He asked me if i was alright, for i had my head down. I was praying and told him so. I told him, believe it or not i go to Mass every day. He said he believed it.
He suggested i wear a thong in the future. [I thought that was against to law too actually] Fortunately, no one had seen me or called in a complaint. They just let me go. The first officer had a pad and had written a short report. They have paperwork on me now. Thank God they just let me go.
I know it's not the same thing as streaking to wear a thong or Speedo, but i'm thinking i might start wearing one or the other from now on. I have mixed feelings about that. I think thongs are too feminine.
I must say, the police couldn't have been nicer about it all. I must admit i never thought i would be running down the street naked with a police car chasing me.
I pray every afternoon for our troops, our police officers and firefighters and told the officer that too. He thanked me.
